Elizabeth Dotts is an associate at PFA. Elizabeth provides administrative support on all levels to the Principals of PFA as well as to its clients. Her duties include research and development as needed to ensure the quality and performance of all work done by the firm. She deals directly with Public Housing Authorities in assistance with assessment management, HUD submission, closing and post closing requirements.
Prior to joining PFA, Elizabeth worked at the YWCA of Central Alabama as their manager of public policy and grants. Elizabeth managed and wrote over $1 million worth of city, county, state, and federal grants. She served as an advocate for homeless women and children and victims of domestic violence locally and at the federal level. She maintained a website and a weekly newsletter designed to connect women and concerned citizens regarding state and national legislation, news, and events affecting women and families through a partnership with over 14 other agencies with similar missions. Prior to her work at the YWCA of Central Alabama Elizabeth worked for the Partnership for Progress on Amendment One, a tax reform campaign for the state.
Elizabeth completed the Alabama Leadership Initiative sponsored by Leadership Alabama and PARCA in 2006. In 2005 she was selected to participate with 20 other women in the National Women’s Law Center’s first Progressive Leadership and Advocacy Network. This group connects and develops the skills of advocates nation-wide who are working on issues affecting low-income women and their families.
Elizabeth is currently a member of the PARCA Roundtable. She is currently serving on one state board – the Alabama Poverty Project. Locally Elizabeth is involved with the Committee of 100, The Downtown Forty Seven, and as an ambassador to Hudson Alpha. Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors of The Arts Council and the Community Foundation of Huntsville Madison County. She is a past board member of the Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform Foundation and the Huntsville Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Elizabeth graduated from Sewanee, The University of the South, in 2003 with a BA in religion. She was an avid equestrian and looks forward to picking up that hobby again soon. Elizabeth married Patrick Fleming in October of 2009. Elizabeth enjoys traveling, political discussions, good books, and mostly playing with their Weimaraner, Jasper and Jack Russell, Lil Jack.
